The novel

Subject 88b

Oscar Palmer, a burnt-out ICU nurse, attempts suicide but is saved by an alien Observer, 45T, who fuses with his mind, creating the Hybrid Brain.

45T is tasked with studying the reasons behind the impending global collapse of humanity. Through Oscar, he must navigate a sprawling, chaotic capital city, a hostile hospital workplace and the absurdities of human existence.

As Mission 45T-3C evolves, the boundaries between them begin to blur. An unlikely alliance develops between 45T and Oscar, who is facing a system determined to break him. Anomalies occur. System errors threaten stability. With the mission itself under threat, 45T must make a decision. Should he protect Oscar without losing sight of what brought him to Earth in the first place, or abort the mission and return to Aetheriom?
